Job Description We are seeking an experienced Test Pilot to support the development and piloting of our two-seat prototype and 9-passenger hybrid electric, blown wing, Ultra Short (eSTOL) aircraft in Manassas, Virginia. You will be part of a high-performing flight team, providing accurate, repeatable data to engineering. Your primary role is to pilot our experimental demonstrator and assist with testing, certification, and developing operational procedures and training. You will also support STOL test and evaluation activities. Key Responsibilities Conduct experimental flight tests on Ultra Short take-off and landing aircraft. Collaborate with flight test engineering to develop test plans and procedures. Develop and maintain flight manuals, checklists, and procedures. Participate in safety and flight readiness reviews. Complete documentation per company and FAA standards. Maintain proficiency across multiple aircraft types. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. At least 10 years of experience as a flight test engineer or pilot involved in crewed aircraft evaluation. Commercial pilot license (single and multi-engine land) with instrument rating. FAA Class II Medical (no limitations). Total flight time of 1500 hours, including 100 hours turbine. 1000 hours PIC in aircraft, including 100 hours testing experimental aircraft. Graduate of a recognized test pilot school or equivalent experience. Experience with risk management, experimental aircraft certification, and FAA processes. Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering or related field. Experience with FAA certification programs, envelope expansion, simulator development, digital flight control systems, or rapid prototype testing. Ability to work in fast-paced, small team environments. Additional Details Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally. Salary range: $111,550 – $261,900.
