Internship Opportunities
WHEN: June 2nd to August 8th. The schedule will begin at approximately 12 hours a week from June 2nd to July 25th and will flex up to 40 hours per week from July 28th to August 8th. This is a Monday-Friday position.
WHERE: The Anchorage Museum in Anchorage, AK. Programming will take place both on-site and off-site.
WHAT: The Anchorage Museum is seeking two (2) enthusiastic applicants for the 2025 summer season. These summer internships are funded by the Anchorage Museum Association. Interns will assist in program delivery, creating resources, and providing support and supervision throughout the summer for workshops and Refugee and Immigration Services (RAIS) programming. Interns will spend time in the classrooms interacting with and engaging children in daily activities in an environment that aids in the exploration of art, culture, history, and science. Opportunities and training may include developing activities for week-long workshop sessions as well as educational and outreach materials. Interns will also have the opportunity for professional development and opportunities to shadow the different departments throughout the museum.
Internship recipients will receive a stipend of $2,750 for the summer. Housing, benefits, and transportation are not provided.
WHO: Applicants must be at least 16 years old and show an interest in public engagement and education. Previous experience in program development and/or teaching environment is preferred, but not required.
