TITLE: Business Banking Associate

LOCATION: Headquarters

REPORTS TO: Vice President – Business Banking Team Leader

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt

PAY GRADE: EX 60 ($67,500 - $106,100 annually)

AVAILABILITY: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Summary:

The Business Banking Associate is primarily responsible for developing and deepening relationships with the retail branch network in commercial relationship management, sales, service, and correspondence. Represents Pioneer within the business community with integrity, charisma, and professionalism.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Actively solicits and originates new commercial clients within designated territory through meaningful and consistent outside sales calls on businesses, networks, and referral sources. Provides ongoing service, needs assessment analysis, and relationship management to existing Pioneer clients.
  2. Manages, cultivates, and grows a portfolio of credit and deposit clients.
  3. Enthusiastically and professionally represents Pioneer in the business community and is an ambassador of its corporate culture.
  4. Participates in joint sales calls with business partners from Commercial Services, Retail Branches, and other departments.
  5. Acts as Retail staff point of contact and resource for loans starting at $100,000 - $350,000 with VP – Business Banking Team Leader approval.
  6. Effective in needs assessment and knowledgeable of Pioneer’s products, services, and processes such that appropriate solutions are recommended to clients.
  7. Sources, manages, and executes new and ongoing credit applications.
  8. Identifies and executes opportunities for new and additional deposits.
  9. Targets opportunities to introduce and implement cash management products to support clients’ key operations.
  10. Contributes to Pioneer’s profitability by generating revenue from deposit growth, credit growth, and fee income.
  11. Coordinates with appropriate branch staff regarding documentation to open new deposit accounts, process loan requests, and establish cash management and ancillary banking services. Reviews documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
  12. Successfully accumulates strategic new business referral sources including CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals. Leads presentations and coordinates networking with centers of influence within the community.
  13. Effectively cross-sells business & retail financial services to business owners and executives across all lines of business.
  14. Collaborates with branch managers & staff on business development activities.
  15. Attends training, seminars, and meetings to expand knowledge of business banking.

Education & Experience:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  2. Three years of related experience in banking, sales support, and/or operations required.
  3. Knowledge of deposit products, credit, cash management products, and ancillary bank services is required.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and math skills.
  5. Must have proficient computer skills, including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook
  6. Strong and effective customer service skills with professional and courteous style of communication.
  7. Must have own transportation and ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
