Position Summary: As a Category Manager in our Electronics division, you play a pivotal role in shaping the cost structure and innovation of directly procured materials across all global sites. You are responsible for meticulous bottom-up cost calculations, powered by robust market data analysis and early involvement in Request For Quotations (RFQs) as part of global program development teams. Your expertise ensures technical specification compliance and adherence to Visteon's stringent terms and conditions, aligning with our overall procurement strategy. Your scope of work focuses on optimizing direct material costs from external markets, ensuring exceptional quality and cost efficiency, and driving consistency and reliability in our global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities - Serve as the commercial and relationship lead with key suppliers, fostering competitive tension and strategic partnerships to drive innovation and performance.
- Engage deeply in SRM (Supplier Relationship Management), guiding suppliers towards success and developing winning strategies together.
- Lead global price negotiations and annual cost reduction efforts, ensuring alignment with our financial goals and market competitiveness.
- Utilize advanced cost-engineering techniques and tools to perform reverse-cost-engineering calculations and pricing analyses.
- Collaborate closely with program teams to provide early input on cost estimations and market intelligence, ensuring specifications are met or exceeded.
- Establish and maintain robust supplier strategies that align with category goals and feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute to cross-functional discussions with finance, sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure comprehensive commercial transparency and strategic alignment.
- Initiate and nurture relationships with new suppliers, ensuring smooth onboarding and compliance with legal and company standards.
Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of relevant experience in cost-engineering, procurement, or a related field within a cross-functional team environment.
- In-depth market knowledge of electronic components and a successful track record in supplier negotiations.
- A strong passion for technology and an unyielding curiosity to explore undiscovered potentials in both design and the supplier base.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are essential for global collaboration.
- Demonstrated capability to maintain focus and composure in a fast-paced and demanding business environment.
Reporting Structure: The Category Manager, Electronics will report to the Global Category Director Procurement & Supplier Quality.
