Job Description

Our Boston-based footwear brand is seeking a Color Designer for an immediate full-time contract. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the footwear industry . Key Responsibilities Develop and implement seasonal color palettes for footwear collections, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and market trends. Collaborate with product design and development teams to create consistency across product categories. Conduct trend research and analyze consumer insights to inform color strategies. Create mood boards, color stories, and visual tools to communicate seasonal directions. Oversee the color development process, maintaining accuracy, quality, and consistency across materials and products. Partner with material teams to explore innovative dyeing techniques, finishes, and technologies. Stay updated on color trends, technologies, and industry advancements to foster innovation. Present color concepts and strategies to internal and external stakeholders. Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of all milestones. Key Skills and Abilities Expertise in color theory, application, and its impact on design and consumer perception. Experience with color in both apparel and footwear categories. Strong creative vision balancing innovation with commercial relevance. Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and color management systems. Excellent collaboration, presentation, and communication skills. Attention to detail and technical knowledge of color development and approval processes. Passion for fashion, design, and consumer behavior insights. Qualifications Background in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Industrial Design, or related fields. 3+ years of professional experience in color design for apparel and footwear. Experience managing global collections and complex projects. Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative color storytelling across apparel and footwear.
