JOB SUMMARY

This position performs a variety of routine-to-complex duties including but not limited to upholding the mission of Columbia College in carrying out the duties of the position; a commitment to positive interpersonal behaviors, professional communication, diversity, integrity, leadership, stewardship, respect and accountability to students and employees is essential. This position coordinates and oversees data procedures and processing for the Admissions Office; responsible for all data entry operations for all undergraduate and graduate applications; and performs related duties as assigned. This class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision and reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for all data entry operations and data processing within the Office of Admissions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Works with college software systems, including but not limited to Slate and Jenzabar.
  • Produces and manages daily mail merge files.
  • Discretion and professional judgment to determine the most efficient and accurate methods of data processing.
  • Works cooperatively with staff and faculty across campus.
  • Answers the primary office phone in the Admissions Office.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
  • Associate's degree in office administration, business administration or closely related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a college environment with interactions with faculty, staff, and students preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented with good personal planning and time management skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, utilizing Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams; experience with Slate and Jenzabar software systems preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires sedentary work that involves walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or routine keyboard operations.

Work environment risks exposure to no known environmental hazards.
