VetsEZ is seeking a VA Data Solutions Analyst to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of data integrations across multiple Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) systems. This role requires direct experience with establishing interfaces to and from the Summit Data Platform (SDP), ILER, VBMS, and VA Profile. Prior exposure to Military personnel data is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will develop data requirements, architect solutions for data flows, and help shape the processes and best practices for long-term data management within the VA environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute the technical and functional steps needed to establish interfaces between SDP and ILER.
  • Identify data sources, define data transformations, and ensure data accuracy for ingestion into the SDP.
  • Organize and structure the data within SDP to align with project and VA requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set up and maintain a reliable interface between VBMS and VA Profile.
  • Develop clear requirements for transferring data, including mapping rules, validation procedures, and compliance measures.
  • Elicit and document data requirements for transferring information from various sources into VA Profile.
  • Analyze data flow challenges, recommend improvements, and develop robust workflows to streamline the integration process.
  • Provide functional specifications and guidance to technical teams to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SDP-related activities, defining how data is sourced, categorized, and maintained.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to determine the staging process for data ingestion, including any necessary approvals or security protocols.
  • Assist in creating project timelines, managing tasks, and reporting on milestones to leadership.
  • Conduct interviews and workshops with technical staff, end-users, and VA representatives to gather system requirements and user needs.
  • Compile comprehensive documentation, including data flow diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Evaluate current integration workflows and suggest enhancements to optimize performance, data integrity, and maintainability.
  • Share knowledge on data integration best practices, encouraging reusability, scalability, and compliance with VA and federal standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience setting up or managing data interfaces in a large-scale or government environment.
  • Familiarity with Summit Data Platform (SDP), VA Profile, or military personnel data (highly preferred).
  • Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into technical requirements and data integration workflows.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL, data modeling, or scripting to support data validation and transformation.
  • Understanding of data quality and governance principles, including data lineage and metadata management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams and presenting findings.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing project timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VA Systems Knowledge: Hands-on experience with VBMS, ILER, and other VA enterprise platforms.
  • Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile or iterative project management approaches.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Benefits:
