The Role Proofpoint is looking for a Director of Global Health and Safety to join our fast-growing Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) team. As the Director of Global Health and Safety, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Proofpoint's Global Health, Safety, and Security Programs. This senior-level position requires a strategic visionary with expertise in Safety, Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Disaster Recovery. You will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive safety and security initiatives that protect our employees and assets globally. This role also involves guiding and growing the team, ensuring alignment with corporate and regional standards, and addressing evolving organizational needs.
Your day-to-day - Lead and Strategize Global Safety Programs: Architect, develop, and oversee the implementation of robust global safety programs, ensuring consistency across all regions and compliance with local regulations.
- Program Evaluation and Integration: Critically assess existing safety and security policies, programs, and procedures, identify gaps, and integrating them into a unified, comprehensive global framework.
- Collaborate with Regional Leads: Partner with regional REWS leads to establish and maintain employee safety protocols across all office locations, ensuring global compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Emergency Preparedness and Response Management: Direct the development and management of Proofpoint's global Emergency Response Teams, ensuring preparedness and coordination during crises.
- Oversee Global Ergonomics Initiatives: Ensure global compliance with ergonomic standards by working closely with regional teams to align with local regulations.
- Emergency Communication Management: Oversee the management and continuous improvement of global internal emergency communication procedures.
- Corporate Physical Security Oversight: Lead the review, enhancement, and management of the corporate physical security program, ensuring alignment with senior management's directives.
- Physical Security Systems Coordination: Work with local REWS teams to design and implement physical security systems for both new and existing office locations.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct and oversee comprehensive risk assessments for remote offices, ensuring they meet corporate and regional Safety and Security standards.
- Strategic Program Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop long-term strategies that expand and adapt global safety and security programs in response to organizational growth, acquisitions, and new priorities.
- Travel Safety and Security Management: Develop and oversee global security, health, and safety programs related to employee travel, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Compliance and Disaster Recovery Support: Support the REWS team in ensuring corporate compliance with Emergency Response Plans, Disaster Recovery Programs, and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
What you bring to the team - Proven leadership in developing and managing global health, safety, and security programs at a director or senior level.
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects with shifting deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a global audience.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong planning, organizational, and team leadership skills, with experience working both independently and collaboratively.
- Proven ability to build and maintain cross-functional partnerships.
- Extensive subject matter expertise in global safety and security programs.
- Flexibility to be available during off hours if needed and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable pay and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes flexible time off, a robust well-being program that provides for 4 global wellbeing days per year, and a 3-week work from anywhere option.
Base Pay Ranges: SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:
Base Pay Range: 189,750.00 - 278,300.00 USD
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:
Base Pay Range: 158,400.00 - 232,320.00 USD
All other cities and states excluding those listed above:
Base Pay Range: 144,825.00 - 212,410.00 USD
