Amentum is currently looking for an Entry Level Electrical Engineer to support customers within the Strategic Microelectronics Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane. The role involves performing a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operations, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems as a member of a design, analysis, or review team. Essential responsibilities include performing design, development, and review tasks with close supervision; designing, developing, and simulating test circuits for characterization and evaluation of microelectronic components; designing and developing printed circuit boards and automated test programs; collecting data on test components and reviewing data; completing portions or sections of analysis and design reviews; assisting in preparation of reports and correspondence; tracking and maintaining project development status; developing, maintaining, and producing technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications; interfacing with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications; and verifying and complying with engineering documentation standards and test procedures. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, experience with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, and analyzers, excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, motivation and creativity to work effectively across different functional areas in a collaborative environment, good organization and ability to handle multiple projects, ability to be a team player and receive mentoring from senior engineers and leadership, aptitude for solving technical problems and creating customer solutions, understanding of concepts, theories, and methods related to microelectronics composition, structure, and properties, and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Preferred qualifications include microelectronic component test experience, knowledge of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Altium, Eagle, LTSPICE, programming experience with Python, C, C++, VisualBasic, git, or Labview, basic analog or design knowledge of circuit boards or ASICs, understanding of noise and repeatable test measurements, and knowledge of microelectronic fabrication processes and techniques.
