Shift: 1st/2nd/3rd | Pay Rate: $17/hr

POSITION SUMMARY: The Forklift Driver in our Shipping Department will be accountable to meeting daily and weekly shipping goals, while also meeting quality, accuracy, and safety objectives. 

Relationships: The Forklift Driver will report directly to the Shipping Lead and will work closely with the Shipping Manager. In this role, the Shipping Clerk will also be working with the Production Team, Purchasing Manager, and Logistics Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

• Loading and unloading goods from trucks 
• Moving goods packed on pallets or totes 
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions (FIFO) • Checking loads are secure 
• Stacking empty pallets 
• Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery • Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines 
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills required • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment 
• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records 
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner 
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• May be required to use RF scanner gun 
• Standup forklift certification per OSHA standards 

Physical Demands and Abilities 

• Regularly standing on a powered industrial truck  
• Frequently lift to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn,   pivot, and stand for long periods of time  
• Having a good sense of balance  
• Having good eye-hand-foot coordination  
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications 

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Experience in Food & Beverage industry
