Fairfield County Hunt Club, Inc. (Westport, CT) has 2 F/T Temp. Horse Grooms (04/01/2025-11/30/2025). 48 hours/week. Split shift 7:00am-1:00pm; 2:30pm-6:30pm (Tuesday-Sunday). Optional hours available on Monday, but not required. Hours may vary based on weather and horse show schedule. $17.93/hour (O/T $26.90) paid weekly on Wednesday. A single work week will be used to compute wages due. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation at the companys sole discretion based on individual factors, including work performance, skill, or tenure. Only deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. H-2B application to be concurrently filed with USDOL. Daily care of horses/ponies located at the Club. Preparation of horses for training/participation in horse shows. Water and feed horses according to feeding instructions. Wash, brush, and trim horses' coats to clean and improve appearance. Inspect and treat illnesses and injuries, involves a visual inspection of the condition of horses for possible injuries, such as posture, shifting weight from one leg to another, refusal to move, change in appetite, or refusal to bear weight on a limb. Report injuries to veterinarian. Duties may include basic first aid, such as cleaning and bandaging minor cuts or scrapes using swabs, cold hosing injured areas to soothe and reduce swelling, applying poultice to aid treatment, checking temperature and heart rate. Clean tack. Ability to lift 150lbs w/assistance. No Education req'd. No experience req'd. All tools/supplies req'd, provided at no cost. Daily transportation to/from the worksite will be provided to the workers at no charge (e.g. designated daily pick-up place). Worksite at: 174 Long Lots Road, Westport, CT 06880, Fairfield County. Voluntary housing at country club at no charge upon availability, but workers are not required to live on-site. Utilities provided free of charge in the employer facilities. If the worker completes 50% of the employment contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first work week for all visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). For certified periods of emp. 120 days or more, employer guarantees work equal to 3/4 of workdays in each 12-wk period of total emp. pd.
