Job Description

Role Summary This is a Hybrid position based at our location in Raleigh, NC. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all aspects of ideation, product feasibility, strategic alignment, market analysis, and sustainability, while leading innovation projects within cross-functional teams Develop innovative filtration and separation solutions, with a focus on clean air technologies for the life sciences and environmental markets Collaborate closely with global MANN+HUMMEL departments and external partners, including universities, institutes, suppliers, and consultants Initiate and foster collaborations with internal and external customers, particularly in the Americas Focus on customer centricity, understanding their problems, and developing targeted solutions with a clear value proposition Oversee all phases of product development, from idea generation to series launch Manage engineering aspects of innovation projects, including concept design, detailed design, prototype development, specification management, testing, documentation, and risk analysis Utilize financial evaluation tools to assess and drive project decisions based on business cases REQUIREMENTS Education: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering Experience: 3+ years' minimum experience in material engineering, chemical engineering, process engineering, production engineering, or a related technical discipline 3+ years' minimum relevant work experience in one or more of the following fields: filter media, carbon capture, sorbent development, filtration systems, HVAC/air purification, life sciences, and/or fiber and polymer science Required Skills: Strong competence in technological and business innovation, with a deep understanding of filtration and separation systems Proven track record in managing innovation projects Business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset, customer-driven, and results-oriented Creativity and ability to generate new ideas and recognize business opportunities Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with internal and external contacts Strong prioritization and delegation skills Ability to work effectively in international teams, with a "can do" attitude, organizational skills, dedication, and perseverance Strong ability to work autonomously in all phases of product development, from idea generation to series launch with minimal guidance
