The Logistics Analyst Sr. is responsible for logistics solutions that improve efficiency and utilization in the network. Working with Operations and Information Technology, the Logistics Analyst will understand and apply the business rules and will develop opportunities that support cost saving initiatives. Other data analysis will be performed as needed by the logistics team, which requires management of databases.

Role & Responsibility

• Coordination of payment to third party logistics providers, which include requisition input and coordination of purchase order to invoice receipt.
• Compile and analyze logistics freight costs for Bobcat North America -Coordinate and compile financial monthly logistics costs.
• Review and approve freight invoices rejected by third party freight payment vendor.
• Analyze contract carrier freight rates to identify cost savings improvements and maintenance contract rates in the Doosan transportation management system.
• Coordinate with the third-party logistics provider to publish required weekly and quarterly KPI's.
• Identify and drive projects to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and create resilient supply chains. Track cost savings, cost avoidance and team progress.
• Identify and lead projects with carriers, 3PLs, NVOs etc. to enhance communication, improve process efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Develop and execute RFx processes and activity along with spot rate quoting and publishing for assigned modes of transportation.
• Provide back-up responsibilities for MIT Planners/Schedulers and Logistics Analysts when needed, to ensure continuous and uninterrupted flow of the planning, shipping & invoicing of shipments.
• Regularly interface with procurement, supply chain, and warehousing teams to drive continuous improvement and help identify and secure cost reductions.
• Seen as a subject matter expect in assigned transportation modes. Serves as an internal consultant for Logistics Analysts and to other internal stakeholders.
• Supervise a small team (if assigned) of 1-3 employees.

 

Job Requirement

• Education & Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree required. Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 5-7 years of logistics or transportation experience. Additional experience in sourcing, operations, supply chain management strongly preferred.
• Travel Required:  up to -25%
• Fundamental understanding of transportation modes, supply chain and logistics concepts.
• Negotiation skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive business decisions.
• Consistently demonstrates ability to learn and use necessary tools.
• Ability to follow process and standard procedures.
• SAP TM experience strongly preferred.
