DESCRIPTION Parole & Probation Officer: Be a Key Player in Rehabilitation and Community Safety! Parole & Probation Officer 1 - $29.60 - $38.87/hourly
Parole & Probation Officer 2 - $32.68 * $42.90/hourly About the Position Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? We're looking for dedicated Parole & Probation Officers to join our team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in supervising and guiding individuals transitioning back into the community. You'll work closely with various authorities like Courts, the Board of Parole, Department of Corrections, and more, ensuring a seamless and effective supervision process.
Key Responsibilities: - Supervise individuals under parole or probation, ensuring compliance with all conditions.
- Conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with releasing authorities and local supervisory bodies.
- Develop and implement effective rehabilitation strategies.
- Provide crucial input for parole and probation decisions.
About the Division The mission of Community Justice and Rehabilitation Services (CJRS) is to contribute to public safety by reducing risk, creating opportunities, and working to make positive changes in lives directly affecting the impact to the community, victims and offenders by holding justice involved youth and adults appropriately accountable for their behavior.
Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Shifts may vary.

QUALIFICATIONS Parole/Probation Officer 1 Training: - Equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or a related field.
Experience: - At least one year of responsible experience providing services to individuals in criminal justice, counseling, social services or a related field.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
Parole/Probation Officer 2
Training: - Equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or a related field.
Experience: - Two years of responsible experience providing services to individuals in criminal justice, counseling, social services or a related field. One year of this experience must have been in corrections or law enforcement.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
Special Certification and License Requirements: - Possession of a current Oregon driver's license at the time of appointment is required.
- Candidates for Parole/Probation Officer 1 must successfully apply for and be issued Parole/Probation certification with the Oregon Board on Public Safety Standards and Training within one year of appointment.
- Candidates for Parole/Probation Officer 2 must possess this certification at the time of appointment.
Special Requirements: - Written exam.
- Thorough background check required for this position.
- Psychological evaluation.
