Job Description
Product Development & Technical design Responsibilities:
Manage WIP and work within the company product development calendar to meet designated goals and deadlines.
Research and communicate with new USA based factories and mills
Ensure that line sheets and design records are kept current.
Oversee and manage technical packs for apparel production
Review lab dips, if/when the brand plans to print/dye
Oversee show fittings and alterations, ensuring that product meets the desired aesthetic and fit
Cast fit models, manage notes and photographs, maintain and organized record for bi-coastal team.
Research sustainable production practices and solutions related to s ustainable materials, minimal/zero waste pattern construction, sourcing deadstock, recycled, or circular materials.
Support entire leadership with creating timelines, deliverables, and goals for the design team to present to CEO and COO.
Strategize with the CD, COO, and CEO to ensure that all budgetary aspects of the development process are in line with yearly projections and financial goals
Prepare and manage costing throughout the development process with CD and designers,, analyzing data to impact design changes and ensure adherence to cost targets
Be willing to commute back and forth from factories, fashion district, and studio
Qualifications
All candidates must be based in NYC.
2-3 years experience in product development , technical design, or fashion design
Proficiency in fashion industry software for creating tech packs and BOMs, specifically Excel or Google Sheets
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
Experience in coordinating with overseas and domestic manufacturers and suppliers.
Ability to work flexibly and contribute to a variety of tasks in a small team
This role is a hybrid position given work-related local travel will be involved.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity and experience with NYC based production. (Resources included but not limited to denim production, small MOQs, deadstock fabrics, applicators, wash/dye houses, etc.)
