Job Description

The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all financial activities for a real estate firm.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for assigned properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Prepare and analyze property budgets, forecasts, and variance reports, providing insights to support decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of annual audits and tax filings, working closely with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Maintain and update property accounting records in the property management software system.
• Monitor property-related financial transactions to ensure compliance with lease agreements and company policies.
• Collaborate with property managers to address financial inquiries and resolve issues related to property accounting.
• Support the implementation of best practices in financial reporting and accounting processes.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience with AP/AR responsibility
• Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
