Kane Realty Corporation, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a high character, motivated, extremely organized, and analytically savvy self-starter for an analyst position on the development team. This individual should have at least a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of analyst experience (financial or real estate), an eagerness and ability to learn, and a can-do attitude with a willingness to take on varied tasks. Currently, Kane has several mixed-use properties in predevelopment and under construction that will provide the primary workload. Job Description

Analyze development opportunities through market studies, financial proformas, and site research. Report findings to ownership, and prepare presentation materials for potential capital sources. Conduct due diligence and maintain predevelopment files. On projects under construction, analyst will act as conduit between extended project team and development team, managing financial requests and construction documentation. Analyst will document meeting minutes and action item lists, distribute to project team, and follow up on deliverables. With guidance, analyst should work toward comfort with using judgment to determine best course of action to address problems without a clear precedent or path forward. Organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, willingness to learn and financial aptitude will be paramount. Excel modeling experience preferred; financial analysis and construction management training resources offered upon hire.

Job Activities

Project Management

  • Coordinate due diligence process: gather information and maintain organized files for transmittal
  • Create, track, present, and revise budgets
  • Create and track development schedules
  • Track, file, & maintain vendor contracts, change orders, & correspondence
  • Support entitlement process & coordinate information for meetings
  • Process invoices and construction draws
  • Maintain construction logs & files
  • Prepare property level reports for ownership/investors

Communication

  • Facilitate communication and correspondence with project team
  • Schedule and organize team meetings and agendas
  • Document meeting minutes & action item lists
  • Ensure flow of information between consultants and development team

Analysis

  • Perform market studies based on comparable projects (rents, expenses, sales)
  • Develop Excel models of varying complexity to understand project feasibility; highlight sensitive assumptions
  • Track construction metrics for various project types
  • Perform various scenario analyses in Excel as needed
