Beacon Hill has partnered with a locally based client in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This position will report directly to the controller. Applicants must have experience with job costing and must come from a private-sector background. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex / large scale account reconciliations. Job Responsibilities
Support audit procedures by preparing required schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Develop and track accruals and prepaid expense schedules.
Compile and assess monthly financial reports to support decision-making.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and promptly address any discrepancies.
Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency.
Maintain accuracy and integrity within the general ledger.
Work cross-functionally with other departments to review and validate financial information.
Verify compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Record and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Adhere to GAAP and corporate accounting standards.
Evaluate financial data and provide variance analysis.
Contribute to special projects and assist with system upgrades as needed.
Prepare and review account reconciliations along with necessary documentation.
Generate financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Update and manage month-end close calendars and checklists.
