POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Data Engineer will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining the data pipelines and infrastructure that ingests, transforms, and stores massive datasets from various sources to support our evolving business needs. You'll be at the forefront of implementing a cutting-edge lake house architecture, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and analytics.

OBJECTIVES

• Collaborate with other team members on scoping solutions and project decision points
• Design and implement data products (pipelines, visualizations) that add value
• Interact with developers, business teams, and other stakeholders to determine requirements
• Assist in the development of the data pipelines that serve as the basis for our customer's financial reporting solutions
• Further the buildout of our internal data lake, ultimately providing better data-analysis platforms to internal teams
• Forecasting and reporting of transformed data
• Design ETL flows independently

COMPETENCIES

• Understanding of datastore and data mart design
• Possess strong proficiency in SQL
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Language (C#, Java, Python)
• Basic understanding of distributed database system
• Experience with statistical analysis and modeling techniques
• Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Strong technical writing skills
• Familiarity with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
• Basic understanding and implementation of REST API tools
• Basic understanding of data security
• Understanding of both structured and unstructured data to improve traditional processes

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in STEM field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk or computer
