Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Reports To: Director of Operations

Position Overview:

the Supply Chain Manager is required to be highly skilled in managing production purchasing, inventory management, and logistics. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient procurement of high-quality materials and services, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and coordinating logistics to support our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing:

  • Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with primary and backup vendors.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure materials meet quality standards.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production needs.
  • Forecast material requirements in coordination with the production team.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste.

Logistics:

  • Coordinate logistics and transportation of materials.
  • Ensure timely delivery and resolve shipment issues.
  • Work with the warehouse team to manage material receipt, storage, and distribution.

Forecasting:

  • Analyze data to forecast future material needs.
  • Develop strategies to respond to changes in demand.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance.

Software Proficiency:

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reports and data analysis.
  • Use inventory management software and ERP systems effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, and/or logistics, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes is a plus.

  • Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) to perform detailed inspections.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time

 

Working Conditions:

· Based in the main office with regular interaction with suppliers and internal teams.

· Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits and industry events.

· Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) to perform detailed inspections.

· Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas
