Frequent lifting/carrying of 50 pounds or more, with occasional work above shoulder level.Position Summary: The Surgical Core Tech is responsible for performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient. Under the supervision of the OR Materials Manager the Surgical Core Tech delivers medical/surgical supplies and instruments for surgical procedures. The Surgical Core Tech functions in support of the Operating Room and Sterile Processing teams to ensure that our patient’s cases are ready at their scheduled time. Ensures that cases are picked accurately. Ensures that case carts are accurately delivered to scheduled rooms. Check with the staff in each room to ensure they have what they need. Delivers instruments to surgical rooms promptly. Pulls the next day’s surgical cases. Responsible to pull, pick, and deliver add-on cases when scheduled. Responsible for returning unused products and instrumentation to inventory shelves. Responsible for stocking the OR in-room storage carts daily. The Surgical Core tech works as a liaison between Sterile Processing, Supply Chain, and OR staff nurses. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.Threshold Requirements: Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation. TB/PPD Surveillance Program.
