Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) is responsible for preparing operating rooms, ensuring sterile conditions, and assisting surgeons during procedures. They play a critical role in maintaining a safe surgical environment by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently. This position requires strong attention to detail, quick decision-making, and adherence to strict sterile techniques to support successful surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sponges, sutures, and other necessary items during surgery.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure.
• Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to prevent retained surgical items.
• Handle and care for specimens properly, ensuring accurate labeling and transportation.
• Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, including electrocautery units and suction devices.
• Monitor and maintain a sterile field, alerting team members to potential contamination risks.
• Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and draping as directed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to provide optimal patient care.
