About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Drug Safety to lead its global drug safety initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for all activities and deliverables of the Drug Safety Department, including operational and medical oversight of safety activities for all medicinal products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving risk management strategies for drugs in development and post-approval. This role requires a passionate individual with a strong dedication to transforming patient experiences in cancer therapy. The VP will also be accountable for the establishment and maintenance of core safety information, supervising and mentoring department staff, and collaborating with other department heads. The position demands an MD with at least 7 years of clinical development experience, including 4 years in drug safety and pharmacovigilance, and in-depth knowledge of best practices in the field. The ideal candidate for the Vice President of Drug Safety at the company will have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a proven track record in clinical development, particularly in the area of drug safety and pharmacovigilance. They must possess expert knowledge in generating safety reports, providing safety input on clinical study protocols, and be proficient in drug safety regulations. Technical skills in commercial drug safety databases, MedDRA, and WHO Drug coding are essential, as is experience in vendor oversight and management. The role requires an individual with excellent organizational, management, and communication skills, who is a strong, influential leader and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. The VP will be expected to think creatively, work in a fast-paced environment, and be willing to travel domestically as needed.
