Position Overview

Join us in the summer of 2025 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking detail-oriented and passionate Visual Arts Administrative Assistants who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Visual Arts Administrative Assistant, you'll play a major role in assisting instructors in a variety of visual arts classes, manage studios, help students, and assist with various other aspects of the program while fully immersing yourself in the unique environment that only a summer camp can offer.

  • Provide administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Oversee budgets, financial records, and purchasing processes.
  • Manage procurement and inventory of departmental supplies.
  • Organize and coordinate events, trips, and other departmental activities.
  • Facilitate funding and resource requests as needed.

What You Need

  • Relevant experience in arts, education, or cultural institutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with common software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, design software).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well in a team.
  • Appreciation for and understanding of the arts.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials as needed.
  • Comfortable with basic tools and equipment.
