Job Description

Job Title: Traveling Superintendent, Los Angeles, TX and Northern CA.

About the Company: Arena Staffing has partnered with a well known GC leader with locations throughout the nation.

About the Role: The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing on-site project execution, including site access, scheduling, logistics, safety, quality, and construction. This role requires multitasking, effective time management, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Superintendent plays a vital role in all project phases, from pre-construction to closeout.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in RFP responses, including presentations and pitches.
  • Manage pre-construction planning, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules and weekly field updates.
  • Lead field teams, trade partners, and owner vendors with proactive communication.
  • Address and resolve on-site challenges promptly and cost-effectively.
  • Champion a strong safety culture aligned with OSHA standards and lead safety meetings.
  • Maintain accurate on-site project documentation.
  • Oversee the closeout process, ensuring timely punch list completion, equipment commissioning, and owner/vendor training.
  • Coordinate labor and general conditions with the project management team to maintain financial commitments.
  • Utilize company systems and technology for efficient and high-standard project management.
  • Engage in business development through networking, client relationship management, and industry events.
  • Mentor and support the growth of interns, Project Engineers, and Assistant Superintendents.

Supervisory Responsibilities: May supervise Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, Field Assistants, and Interns.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6-15 years managing related mission-critical projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in similar roles.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in scheduling software.
  • Solid knowledge of construction trades and technical aspects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in pre-construction scheduling and logistics.
  • Ability to manage field teams, trade partners, and vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop field personnel.

Pay range and compensation package: Salary Range: $150-200k.
